Water in the Sky
This is the fantastic scene that thrilled me yesterday when I was driving to Longmont.
I have been doing some painting lately and maybe because of that, am becoming even more 'visually aware'. If you look closely at the photo you can see lines of both light and shadow extending from the cloud. That you can see this in a picture taken with my phone tells you how pronounced these were.
Just a beautiful reminder that everything is impacting everything else. Nothing is compartmentalized including you and me. People can talk for hours and hours about interdependence, quantum field theory and all kinds of variations on this theme.
I'd rather take the poetic route and just gaze at the sky.

Re-Unite w Ecstasy ( still June 23rd!)
Ok. Obvious right? But how often do we shun the very things that thrill us?
Years ago, I had a friend visiting and we went up into the mountains. I remember commenting something to the effect of "I should do this more often'. The truth is that carving out time for things that nurture us often takes a back seat to the obligations that weigh upon us.
Without that juju of pleasure, I believe that we become less and less effective at reacting to and developing creative strategies for our 'regular' lives. Keep your nose to the grindstone long enough and you will end up without anything to smell the flowers.
Simple to say but hard to set as a priority. Oh so worth it though....
